Mark was elected as a Parent Governor in 2016.  He has two daughters at Westdale; one in Foundation and one in Year 2, his youngest child is still a couple of years out.

Mark works with data and analytics in marketing and media and works between an office at home in Nottingham, the business in London and with clients around the world.  He is hoping to bring his business experience to hand on the Resources Committee and is also interested in how performance data is collected and used within school - relating his day job to the governor role.

With three young children other interests seem hard to come by, but he enjoys all sports as a spectator, has always been interested in politics and current affairs and likes to cook (well burn meat on a barbecue!).

Louise works for Gedling Borough Council in Economic Development and before that she spent five years at the Big Lottery Fund which is responsible for distributing the good case money from the National Lottery to organisations for community projects.  It was her work on projects delivered to schools that made her apply to be a school governor at Westdale.

She has been a governor for nearly 7 years; originally at a Junior School and this being her 4th year at Westdale.

Not originally from Nottingham, Louise attended university at Nottingham Trent and never went home.  She has now settled in Mapperley and has three children, one of which attends Westdale.

I'm Rebecca, I am mum to Josephine who is in foundation Class 2. As I'm new to the Parent Governor role I'm really looking forward to getting involved and taking part in ensuring Westdale Infants is the best it can possibly be. I have worked in the third sector for 14 years and I'm currently an Assistant Director for P3 Charity, managing services for a wide variety of people including those experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, addiction and excluded young people. I am passionate about making a difference for our clients and believe everyone has potential. I enjoy being a mum to my two girls and spending quality time with my family, especially when we're all on holiday!

Welcome to the Governors' page.

Westdale Infant School governing body is made up of 13 people – parents and carers, a teacher representative and members of the local community.

Those governors have the legal duties, powers and responsibility to ensure that Westdale is organised efficiently and effectively and doing the very best for all children.

The full Governing Body meets once a term to monitor the progress of the school, with smaller committees meeting to monitor and discuss issues connected with finance, strategic development, personnel and pupils.

Parents can find out more about governors by looking on the school website and various governing body reports are available in the entrance foyer.

As part of their efforts to keep in touch with the school, Westdale governors hold coffee mornings throughout the year, as an informal way of meeting and listening to parents/carers. Look out for dates in the newsletter and come along for a chat.

Any issues relating to school should of course be taken to the Headteacher in the first instance, but if you needed to contact governors more formally; letters should be addressed via the school office.
