At Westdale, we're having a big push on the development of the speaking and listening skills of the children. Part of this includes various interventions such as 'Talk Boost', 'Switch-On Reading' and 'Project X', see below for more information.
Talk Boost: Talk boost is a a thrice-weekly group of four children led by a TA for around 20-40 minutes, the sessions involve four exciting and different activities all revolving around various areas of speaking and listening.
Switch-on Reading: Switch-on is a regular 1:1 intervention based solely around reading and helping the child to develop in to an effective reader.
Project X: Project X is a regular intervention that is primarily done 1:1 but also works in a small group. This intervention is based on building the children's phonic/tricky word knowledge using an exciting world with familiar characters.
Notts Language for Life (Not an intervention): This website includes lots of handy information and resources revolving around speaking and listening.
