  • Easter Boxes

    Thu 28 Mar 2024

We were astounded by the amount of Easter Boxes our lovely children have made and brought in. You can see a lot of time and care has been taken, and we have loved seeing all the different ideas and designs. On Thursday, the children were invited to bring in £1 to take a box home with them, this raised £125 for the school. Thank you so much for your support!

  • Science Day

    Thu 29 Feb 2024

It was National Science Day on Wednesday and the whole school took part in fun activities to celebrate the day. Little Stars, Ladybirds and Butterflies completed tasks such as a magnet hunt around the classroom, floating and sinking in water trays, and using magnifying glasses for observing plants outside.

Y1 made beautiful skittle rainbows and predicted how many pencils they could put through a sealed sandwich bag filled with water. Y2 made brilliant lava lamps and created walking rainbows with food colouring. Everyone had a lot of fun!

  • Y1 Robot Day

    Thu 29 Feb 2024

Last Friday, Year 1 had a 'bring your robot to school day' to launch their new topic. We had lots of fun in the hall playing with lots of different versions, and making the robots move around obstacles - we even had a ramp! This was a great way to teach position and direction.

  • Y1 Film Night

    Fri 09 Feb 2024

On Thursday, Year 1 had their first cinema night at school until 5pm. They loved relaxing on beanbags and pillows beneath twinkly fairy lights, nibbling on popcorn/snacks, sipping their juice and watching a Disney film with all their friends! Thank you for your contributions, we are now able to purchase two sensory tables for our classrooms.

  • Well done Pia!

    Fri 15 Dec 2023

We had a special visitor in school today. Our local MP, Tom Randall, ran a Christmas Card Competition for local schools and we are delighted to inform you that the runner-up design is from Pia from our Ladybirds class! Pia’s design will be on the inside cover of the 1,300 Christmas card that Tom Randall will be sending out to people and organisations across Gedling. As a prize, Pia has won four tickets to watch the Sleeping Beauty pantomime at the Nottingham Arts Centre. Well done Pia!

  • Y2 Animal Care Talks

    Fri 01 Dec 2023

A huge thank you to our Year 2 parents for talking to the children about animals last week. Freya’s Mum showed us lots of photos and talked to us about what it is like to be a dog groomer and how this helps to keep dogs healthy. Genevieve’s Mum talked to us about what vets might do and brought in some brilliant practical activities. The children had a go at making organs and bones out of playdoh and bandaging up poorly dogs, cats and rabbits.

Finally, we had an incredibly exciting chance to meet some of Claire’s exotic pets. We met Buttercup the Tortoise, Clifford the Bearded Dragon, two beautiful lizards and a stunning snake called Rose. Claire told us how to look after them properly including what they eat and where they need to live.

All the talks were a wonderful experience for the Year 2 children and we are very grateful to the adults who gave up their time to come and see us. THANK YOU!

  • Odd Socks Day 2023

    Mon 13 Nov 2023

Our Odd Socks Day on Monday 13th November marked the start of Anti-Bullying Week in school. This day encouraged the children to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! We loved seeing all the odd socks and used the theme to talk about our values Friendship and spreading Kindness.
