• Y1 Dino Museum

  Thanks to all the parents who joined us at our Y1 Dino Museum yesterday afternoon to share all the amazing learning the children have done this term through their 'Dino Dig' topic. Thanks to all the Year 1 staff and children for their hard work across the range of the curriculum and parents for their support. A great afternoon!

  

• New Buddy Bench

  There was a lot of excitement today as Mr Curtis , our Site Manager worked for the most of the day building our new buddy bench. Our children watched him working for most of playtime and lunchtime!

  The bench has been donated by Mr Curtis (his mum was also caretaker here a while ago!) and his family. Thanks so much Andy   - a great job and wonderful addition to the playground.

  

• Draughts Competition 2019

  6 of our draughts club members went to The Carlton Junior Academy today for our annual inter school draughts competition. We were the only infant school represented there. The children did so well playing against Year 4 and 5s and winning!

  Well done all, your attitude was amazing!

  Thanks also to Mr Crookes who takes draughts club and coached so well!

  

• George's Marvellous Medicine Art Workshop in Y2

  Emma, our fabulous visiting artist, came into Year 2 today to create some amazing sculptures linked to George's Marvellous Medicine. Year 2 had a fantastically messy and creative time!

  

• Wormery in F2!

  Children in our foundation stage had fun creating their own wormery today. Lots of outside learning, language development and knowledge and understanding of the world was seen!

  

• Speedkick Challenge Celebration Assembly

  Lee from Cannonville Coaching came to assembly today to present award from the Speedkick Challenge event. Thank you to all who took part, we managed to raise a whopping £704.35 for our playground! Well done to you all!

  

• Music at Westdale

  We love music at Westdale! Our lovely Mrs Watkins bring our music learning to life. Year 1 are currently fine tuning their glockenspiel skills. They are learning lots!

   

  Our recorder group is also very popular!

  

• World Book Day Reading Cafe

  All the children had chance to take part in the reading cafe during book week. This is now a resource in school so we can use whenever we need a good book to read and a biscuit!

  

• World Book Day 2019

  Thank you to all who made World Book Day such a success and for getting us all reading! The children and staff looked amazing! We also had the pleasure of the watching Hobgoblin Theatre Company who presented the story of Robin Hood.
