As part of Earth Day at the start of the week, the Eco-Team children met with Miss Brown to discuss ideas and actions for summer. They have decided they would like to transform the new large planter by the office into a vegetable patch! On Friday 23rd May, we will have a non-uniform day to help raise money for new gardening equipment, seeds, bulbs and future projects.
To celebrate Spring, the children were asked to to decorate an egg box (or a lid) and fill it with goodies such as chocolate and sweets, totalling £1.
Everyone was then invited to bring in £1 on Friday to buy a box and take home as their own.
This is such a brilliant fundraiser and every year is a huge success! Thank you to everyone for their support.

On Wednesday, Comets and Moonbeams enjoyed the sunshine at Digby Woods. The children spend a little time exploring the woodland and looking at different trees, flowers, leaves and animals. Thank you so much to all our parent helpers who volunteered their time! We appreciate you!
Thank you and well done to everyone who took part in POW’s Easter Colouring Competition, ‘A Mad Hatter’s Parade’. The designs were fantastic and it was really difficult to pick the winners! This was also a brilliant fundraiser for the school, we collected £85 which will be put towards resources for all of the children. Thank you so much.

You can see a lot of time and care has been taken, and we have loved seeing all the different ideas and designs. On Thursday, the children were invited to bring in £1 to take a box home with them, this raised £125 for the school. Thank you so much for your support!

It was National Science Day on Wednesday and the whole school took part in fun activities to celebrate the day. Little Stars, Ladybirds and Butterflies completed tasks such as a magnet hunt around the classroom, floating and sinking in water trays, and using magnifying glasses for observing plants outside.
Y1 made beautiful skittle rainbows and predicted how many pencils they could put through a sealed sandwich bag filled with water. Y2 made brilliant lava lamps and created walking rainbows with food colouring. Everyone had a lot of fun!
Last Friday, Year 1 had a 'bring your robot to school day' to launch their new topic. We had lots of fun in the hall playing with lots of different versions, and making the robots move around obstacles - we even had a ramp! This was a great way to teach position and direction.
