Reading and Writing Cafe

Why do we reading and writing cafés at Westdale? 

 

At Westdale we want the children to have fun and read and write for enjoyment, making their own choices. They have special journals to write with and the teacher writes alongside modelling the writing process. In the reading café the room is set up to look like a special café and children share books that they enjoy and practise the skill of reading.  Please see the information below.
