Early Reading

At Little Stars, children are introduced to a wide variety of books.  We have story times,  sharing a book time and have a big focus on a fabulous story that underpins our learning for the week.  We have many key stories that we introduce your child to.  These includes traditional tales,  nursery rhymes, stories with familiar settings, fact books and stories that inspire and excite their curiosity and wonder in the world around them.  Our Learning Trail gives details of our focus stories and books each term.  We have a cosy and inviting story and reading area with cushions to relax on, a rainbow to dream under and puppets to help us play out our favourites.  Our ambition at Little Stars is to develop that awe and wonder that a good story can excite.  We love storytimes,  and have great fun reading and retelling amazing tales.  We want your children to love reading and sharing a book and to start the journey of being a lifelong reader.
