Don't just take our word for it! Here are some thoughts from our children at Westdale about Supersonic Phonic Friends: they find it fun, interactive, and engaging. The routine is reassuring, and the repetition makes learning predictable and enjoyable. We're all loving it!

Bowen – “I like Switch It Mitch because he’s funny, I like his rhymes like drop the ‘e’ and add the ‘d’!”
Florence – “We learn rhymes to change words like ‘cry’ to ‘cried’, change the y to an 'i' and add 'ed' – then it’s easy to remember. My favourite character is Write with Ron because at the end, we can write funny sentences and we get to read them out.”
Edison – “I like that it actually makes you feel happy when you do it because the actions make it feel fun. Like 'hey-diddle diddle, its in the middle', that we did in year 1.”
Jessie – “I like when we write down how the spell the words, like when you use the root word and turn it into a new one, like if you did 'bake' and it turns to 'baked'.”
Isabella – “I like reading the sentences and I like the actions like, “Listen with Len so you don’t need a pen.” and “What can you see in the phonics TV?”
Ruari – “You have pictures to help when you write the sentences.”
Ashvin – “We do phonics every day because it teaches us new words and then we can read them in our books.”
Mila – “We do the same sounds or the same rules until we know it, and then we can use it in our other writing.”
Sophia – “I like Cheeky Sneeky Sid and Nonsense Nan because they do silly things like silly words, and we have to figure out if they are real or if they’re absolute nonsense.”
Archie – I like to see the picture on the board and guess what the word will be. Like when we did -er, the baby could be smaller, tinier, younger, littler.”
Kyra - “I like Read with Rex because we can read with speed and you learn to read faster.”
Jackson - “We have sounds on the window and on display to help us, and we also have them on the sound mat on the table.”
