Quality text coverage

Across school, teachers carefully choose a quality text to underpin their English lessons and authors are specifically chosen for their ability to engage young readers. This is essential for enhancing literacy skills such as oracy, comprehension, grammar and writing, whilst also fostering a love of reading. Books are interwoven into all aspects of our topic-driven curriculum so children have the opportunity to receive a broad and balanced education. 

 

By including a diverse range of genres such as fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, children are provided with a broad exposure to a rich and varied text types. Below you can access our book coverage for each year group. Please be mindful that these are not "set in stone" and are working documents. We may carefully choose, review and change the quality texts based the suitability and interests for our cohorts, or to introduce newly published texts.
